Drying Effects

More on the contact angles will be posted when I compile a couple of more samples, but for now here are some images of the effects of drying the samples with CO2 gas versus air when wet with water. The samples were prepared by vapor deposition, similar to the procedure used in prior blog postings. The pictures are: Amine surface [N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyl-trimethoxysilane] after drying with CO2 (top left), air dry (bottom left), formamidine functionalized with CO2 drying (top right) and formamidine functionalized with air drying (bottom right). The magnification of these pictures is 5x ( I apologize for no scale bars).
